Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HomeMathTools handles information when you visit and use HomeMathTools.com. We aim to keep the site simple: the calculators are designed to work in your browser and do not require an account.
1. Information you enter into calculators
Our calculators ask for project measurements such as length, width, depth, tile size, board size, coverage or waste allowance. These values are processed by the page's JavaScript to produce a result. We do not require you to create an account or submit calculator measurements to us.
2. Information you choose to send us
If you contact us by email, we may receive the information contained in your message, including your email address and any details you choose to provide. We use that information to respond to your request, investigate reported errors and improve the site. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, government identification numbers or other unnecessary sensitive information.
3. Hosting and technical information
Like most websites, requests to our hosting and infrastructure providers may involve technical information such as an IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps and pages requested. This information can be used by infrastructure providers for security, reliability, abuse prevention and service operation. HomeMathTools does not use calculator inputs to build personal profiles.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The current site may use only the technologies necessary for hosting and site functionality. If analytics, advertising, consent-management tools or other tracking technologies are introduced, this policy will be updated to describe the relevant providers, purposes and available choices before or when those technologies are used.
5. Advertising and Google services
HomeMathTools may apply for Google AdSense or use other advertising services in the future. If Google advertising is enabled, third-party advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Google requires publishers to disclose relevant cookie, data-use and third-party advertising practices in their privacy policies. Users may be offered controls for personalised advertising where applicable.
For current Google requirements, see Google AdSense required content and How Google AdSense uses cookies. If advertising is added, we will update this policy and implement any applicable consent mechanisms.
6. Analytics
If we add an analytics service, it may collect information such as page views, approximate usage patterns, browser information and referring pages. Analytics will be used to understand site performance and improve content rather than to request sensitive information from visitors. This section will be updated with the specific provider if analytics is enabled.
7. Third-party links and services
Our pages may link to suppliers, manufacturers, Google services or other third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
8. How information may be used
Information we receive may be used to provide and maintain the site, respond to emails, investigate technical problems, prevent abuse, improve calculators and guides, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell calculator measurements as a standalone data product.
9. Data retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to correspondence, maintaining records and meeting legal or security needs. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information and the service provider involved.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a small informational website. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so avoid sending unnecessary confidential information by email.
11. Children
HomeMathTools is a general home-improvement information site and is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the calculators.
12. International visitors
HomeMathTools may be accessed from countries with different privacy laws. Hosting, email, advertising or analytics providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable, we will use the privacy and consent mechanisms required for the services we operate.
13. Your choices and questions
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information held about you. Because rights and obligations vary by jurisdiction, contact us with a specific request and we will consider it in accordance with applicable requirements.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site changes, for example when analytics, advertising or new functionality is introduced. The “Last updated” date at the top will be changed when material revisions are made.
15. Contact
Privacy questions, correction requests and concerns can be sent to [email protected].
